Shiny hair yes, but how?

Greasy hair is caused by an imbalance in the sebaceous glands. These glands secrete abnormal amounts of sebum (seborrhoea) and clog up the pilosebaceous follicles on the scalp, suffocating the hair’s roots.

While sebum flow is essential to beautiful looking hair, making it shine and look glossy, it is harmful when it starts working overtime. Suffocated by the excess sebum, hair can no longer absorb the secretions and overwhelmed by this asphyxiating flow, it becomes greasy, dull-looking and unstylable.

Who’s to fault?

    •    Genetics: your parents, or one of them, have greasy hair.
    •    An endocrine problem: excess secretion of male hormones.
    •    Diet: too much sugar and fats.
    •    Certain health complaints: constipation, obesity, liver overload.
    •    Stress: emotional shock accelerates seborrheic hyper secretion.
    •    Unsuitable shampoos: poor quality or incorrect use. •    Genetics: your parents, or one of them, have greasy hair.

Doing away with greasy hair

    •    Improve your general state of health
    •    Eat a balanced diet (avoid animal fats),
    •    Take food supplements for hair.
    •    Oxygenate your scalp
    •    Massage your scalp regularly to dislodge dandruff which prevents it from “breathing”;
    •    Rub your scalp with tonic lotions for greasy hair to stimulate capillaries and purify sebum levels.
    •    Purify your hair
    •    Regularly apply an anti-sebum absorbent mask all over your scalp;
    •    Use anti-itching hair oils – wash your hair tonically with “non-ionic surfactant” products as often as necessary (2 times a week or   more).
